Various Locations:

Most of the time when people crave for simple affordable Thai food, they will think of Thai Express as this eatery is located almost everywhere in Singapore.

Business is always good especially the new Vivo outlet. People dine for the affordable pricing, generous portions, convenient locations, simplicity of menu & shop layout. In terms of food quality, it really varys among different outlets.

We have actually eaten a couple of times at Thai Express. Sometimes the food turns out good and well done like the delicious soupy chicken crystal noodle, and at times, it's really not acceptable. For instance, our last visit at Vivo was torturous as the special thai fried rice & fried noodle was extremely spicy that we had difficulty having a few more bites. The chef must be in bad mood.

But overall, this place is still quite likable and offers a simple choice of dining experience.

>> The food is too spicy, even the thai tea is unable to put out the fire in my mouth and stomach.

It's our first dining experience here. Supposing to head over and see the fireworks competition, but lost track of time as we ordered too much food.

Business at this outlet is really good, very packed and you can see everyone's table is overflowing with food. We were indecisive with the food choices as all seems good. After having long thoughts, we placed our orders.

The tom yum soup was too spicy for us to handle. Pineapple Rice portion was huge even though we ordered small for 2 pax. But huge portion might not be good as we find it quite blend. The honey thai chicken was covered with too much honey that mel got sick of it. The broccoli with scallops is too watery & tasteless. Only their Red Ruby dessert is acceptable for consumption.

It was actually quite disappointing. Hopefully our next visit would be better.

Second Visit @ Siglap Centre Branch

The 2nd visit to lemongrass is so much better. I *Oink* go there with ash & fl to celebrate our simple christmas. We order the garlic chicken, mixed vege, green curry, tom yum soup, pineapple rice, hotplate tofu, sweet tapioca and gluttonous rice with mango. Most of the food taste acceptable except the desserts. The tapioca and the gluttonous rice is quite hard, think will lead to indigestion.

Craving for authentic Thai food, you might want to check out this restaurant call Siam Kitchen. They served a wide range of Thai Cuisine from appertiser to dessert, and as per what they claimed, all their chefs are bona fide cooks from Thailand, which perhaps explain why the food are quite up to standard.

I have visited quite a no of times and was seldom disappointed with the food being served. The shop itself does not portrait a very authentic image as the shop has a very empty design concept. Other than chairs and tables, they only had some posters hanging on the wall. No other decor structures around, that's why the shop looks white & empty like a basement canteen. Of coz, I was hoping to be served by very service oriented staffs as if i'm back in Thailand, but wish not granted.

They had a very colorful menu with mouth watering dishes. Once seated, they would serve you with a plate of koropok crackers which are chargable, and this goes very well with their chilli. If you ever eat in here, do remember to order their tom yum soup & green curry as i personally like it. They also serve dishes like pineapple rice, olive fried rice & etc. So far so good, except for their sweet sauce hor fun, not to my likings.

Final Verdict: Affordable good food.
