If ever we needed one last dish in our lifetime, the crab bee hoon from Mellben would be the best option.

This place opens at 5pm and before that, people already started queueing. Unbelievable right? We actually reach this place at 7pm and have to join in the queue to take our orders and let the people assign seats to you. By the time, we managed to get a seat, it is already 8.15pm.

Our first dish is only being served around 8.30pm. And by the time all dishes are finished being served, it is already almost 9pm. By the time, our tummy has been satisfied and ready to go, it's almost 9.30pm. Freaking hell, 2 hours gone just for the crab. But trust me, worth every min!!

The crab bee hoon soup is so creamy and thick with the crab egg roe, gello and butter, simply divine. The crab meat is also very very sweet, firm & fresh. And do try their 2nd signature dish which is the butter crab, you will be loss for words.

They do serve other cze cha dishes but not as good. So just focus on the crabs. By night time, think they have sold a few hundred crabs.

It is so good that we can have it every week but then, health is important.

"Oh yah, do try the BBQ chicken wing stall in that kopitiam as well, superb!!"

Rong Guang BBQ Seafood

Block 120 Bukit Merah Lane
Alexandra Village, #01-07/08
Singapore 150120

301 Ulu Pandan Road
Singapore 596469

This is our favourite place for good quality, delicious and affordable Cze Cha and BBQ seafood. And all the time is paid by Meow's parents as this is our frequent dinner dining place, haha.

The first time we ate here, we fell in love with their sambal stingray & sambal stir fry chilli sotong. Every bite is so enjoyable as the sambal is really good. Not too hot nor too sweet. Goes very well with the white rice or their very fragrant fried rice.

Their stir fry Kailan is also fresh & crunchy, one of the must order item. The same goes for the sweet & sour pork, taste so good though portion a bit too little.

Of coz, they have lots more items that what is listed here. Take a look at their menu and make your order. Be prepared to wait due to the super long waiting list. Yummy.

Jing's first visit to Turf City, sounds so silly. Meow's mum thought of having dinner here and chose the Pantai Seafood as her treat due to some promotions.

We were given outdoor seats as indoor was fully packed. Looks messy to me and it is kind of warm. We were served with chrysanthma tea but had to ask them to replace it as there were mini flies in it, so gross. After they replaced, we still can find some more flies. The lady claims that those are the flower petals, but to us, it doubt so, as there are wings & eyes, haiz!!

We ordered some dishes from their recommendation like the Pig Trotter's Leg, Four Heavenly King Beans, Cheese Escargo (sounds nicer than snails) & etc.

Frankly speaking, the messy environment matches their food as it don't taste good. We find the pig's leg very fat & dry, the beans sounds silly, taste ordinary. Kang Kong chilli not nice, cheese escargo don't turn us on & many more poor comments.

And after so much suffering from the dinner, the price don't comes cheap. Was hoping for some compensation but then, dream on.

Final Verdict: If you ever make a trip down to Turf City, perhaps try other seafood restaurants first.
