Trying to explore new eating places, we flipped through the I-S guide and spotted this place located at the Novotel Clarke Quay Hotel.

The whole hotel looks very rundown on the exterior which make us wonder if this restaurant exists. We search around quite a while before we manage to make our way here. And guess what, there is a birthday party going on in there.

We still went in and sat by the windows. Nice view of clarke quay. The whole restaurant is very plain looking and the friendly soft spoken staffs are all dressed in orangy long sleeves attire. The moment we settle down, we are served with their starter "Onion Chutney". It is not to our likings as we find it too salty. Therefore, we carefully read through the descriptions of food on the menu before making our food selection.

We order a biryani rice, 1 butter naan, 1 garlic naan, 1 masala tea, 1 mutton curry, 1 chicken curry and 1 tandoori chicken. Every dish that was served to us was superb. So good that make us speechless and can only concentrate on savouring every bite.

The biryani rice though plain looking is very fragrant and delicious. The naans are good especially the Butter Naan, you can taste the great butter flavours on every single bite. The Masala tea is normal with lots of cinnamon smell. The mutton and chicken curry are so good and fresh that we finish it till the last drop. The tandoori chicken is served on a hotplate. Superb. Very tender and nicely charcoal grilled. Best tasted ever.

Greedy us. So good that we kept ordering. Average pricing as we order so much and the bill only cost us $60. Our stomach are so full and bloated that we have to walk for hours to let it digest. We just love indian cuisines.

This indian cuisine composes of both the south and north indian dishes, and a wide variety of sweet desserts.

I have recently went over to their newly opened outlet in Suntec City on my colleague, Subra's birthday. This new outlet is spacious with modern westernize design. You won't even know it is actually selling indian cuisines, till you step in and be accompanied by the indian traditional music.

Muthu Curry is famous for their Curry Fish Head, so you just have to order this on your every single visit. Other recommended dishes are their tandori chichen, mango yoghurt drink, spicy mutton. My personal favourite are the bread like "naan" & "chapati".

Don't expect too much on their services & food portion. The portions served at Suntec are quite small, unlike their parent stall on race course road. Service is not very prompt & friendly, a bit stuck up behaviour from the staffs.

But nevertheless, this is a really good place to spent your lunch time with your colleagues with a price to pay. ($$$)

Muslim cuisine, one of my favourite. Never get sick of things like Chicken Bryani (My Fav is still from Ramu's Curry @ Thomson, but it closed down already, sob sob), Roti Prata & etc. That's why Meow always tell me I should have an indian bf so I can enjoy indian cuisine daily. But frankly speaking, Meow is also no better off than me as he loves drinking indian curry.

Therefore, thought of checking out the famous Jalan Kayu with my best pals FL, Ash & Derick for supper. This is how I ended up at this Thohirah Restaurant as biz looks good there. Gals are visual creatures too.

People are born with mentality that long queue with busy biz means good food. Ha.....but most of the time, it turns out otherwise. And the funny thing is, ppl will still go and queue and wait for ages while the next stall serves better quality food with no queue at all *blink blink*

As for this stall, we are being served with one attitude server as if we owe him $$$. And ask him for things like extra plate, always never give us until we have to request from another server. Menu wise, contained the usual cuisines, and of coz, it tasted normal also. The Kang Kong tasted a bit "undercook", nasi goreng still not so bad, stingy with curry and we need to request more though it taste decent, prata is not nice!!!

Final Verdict: There are definitely better stalls in Jalan Kayu, visit this only if you want convenience.
