Glad that Meow manage to borrow a car today so that we can travel to more distant places for food hunting. So here we are, at thomson area, the place where I grew up. I just loved Thomson.

We head over to Jalan Leban to try out this very popular Peranakan Restaurant known as Eva's.

We are warmly greeted by the staffs as soon as we step in. Got ourselves an window seat that can overlook the whole restaurant. This place is not very spacious, no big decor, just a simple look with soft bluez music playing in the background. Very cozy and you will totally feel at ease as if you are in your own house.

Choices of food is very limited but it is good enough to make you come back for more. We order a mutton soup, sambal kangkong, ayam chap goh mei and sotong kichap hitam. Each dish cost about $8+ to 9+ which is consider a bit steep for the small portion being served.

The food gives you a very homecook feel. The mutton soup looks more like mutton in curry gravy but thumbs up for this. The Ayam Chap Goh Mei is even better, 2 thumbs up. Creamy thick coconut gravy with tender chicken thigh. The sotong and kangkong is decently good.

This dinner is really enjoyable and we will surely make another trip down to try some other items.

Huh, handwritten menu on one side, goodbye note on the other side when we have yet to place our orders??
