Canelé is one very hot cafe, always appearing in newspaper with very good ratings. This cafe is owned by the Les Amis Group and lead by the famous executive pastry chef Pang Kok Keong.

After our heavy lunch at Moghul, we walk over to this cafe for some desserts and spend a lazy saturday afternoon here relaxing. The moment we step in, we are mesmerized by the extensive choices of breads, cakes and chocolates.

The whole cafe was so beautifully designed. So cozy that makes you feel at home. Cakes are all fresh from the oven as there is a huge kitchen behind the counter. And business is damn good, very crowded at the counter and we had to queue for quite some time. Flow of people here never stops. Lots of people shaked hands with Chef Pang. Ha.

The counter is mend by a X-factor lady with really nice voice. Think her voice has seduced Meow, haha. She is really service friendly and brought our ordered cakes to us. We chose a strawberry shortcake and a raspberry marmalade. The cakes there ranged from $5.50 onwards.

After a few bites of the cakes, we aren't really overwhelmed. Though the cream of the cakes are fabulous, really good but the cake sponge though soft, is over soggy at the last layer. And the major disappointing factor is that the strawberries and raspberries are very sour. If all these are improved, this place would be perfect.

Overall is a bit disappointing, overrated by the food critics. But still, this place is a great place to hangout. Great ambience, friendly services and great cake designs.
