Lei Garden, one of the leading cantonese cuisine restaurant in Singapore. They have superb culinary skills and one is seldom disppointed with the food, menu selection, ambience and very good friendly services.

Business is so good that it is packed everyday, with lots of regular patrons, so reservations are strongly recommended. And do be advised that some items needs to be advance ordered.

We have actually eaten here before for their morning dim sum which is excellent. They serves the best mini egg tart and roasted pork. And today is our second visit to celebrate FL's birthday. She only has likings for chinese food.

As usual, we had already pre-ordered the their signature dishes like the Daily Double Boiled Soup, Peking Duck & Crispy Roast Chicken. Once we sat in, we were served with a light fried fish starter which cost us $7. Then we browse through the menu and ordered other dishes.

Serving time is a bit slow due to the packed crowds in the restaurant. The peking duck was served to us first. The skin was professionally sliced off by their captain and we requested the duck meat to be cooked with the Ee Fu Noodle. Cripsy duck skin compliments so well with the wrap, sweet sauce & spring onion. Simply divine.

And being in such a cold environment, sipping our second dish Herb & Pork Double Boiled Soup is the best. Very well brewed with ingredients which brings out the thick flavours, and it just warms your tummy. Next served is the crispy chicken. It goes very well with the dip that comes along. I prefer their version than Chef Chan.

And looking enviously at other table's fish, we also went to order one Steam Garoupa. Never knew it would cost us $71. Therefore, never be lured by temptation. Meow, a fish lover finds it not very fresh as the fish meat sticks. But the rest of us finds it quite good, sweet & tender with nicely done soyu sauce. The kailan that came next was crunchy, but not everyone's favourite. FL finds the stem bitter.

Finally, our duck meat Ee Fu Mee is served. Taste is just right. And last by not least, our favourite must have dessert "Yang Zhi Gan Lu", mango dessert with sago & pomelo, yummy. The best version is still from hong kong.

Of coz, so much for the great dinner & good food, price don't come cheap. Lei Garden is more on the pricer side, but that wouldn't stop us coming back for more.
