Boon Tong Kee is a renowed name among chicken rice lovers. With a very established branding, they managed to attract crowds to all their outlets around singapore.

One of the best outlet is the one located at Bukit Timah, business is always so good that people are willing to queue a long time for it. Some claims that Boon Tong Kee serves the best chicken, while others think they are overated and expensive, which is me & meow.

The chicken they served are fat & not extremely smooth & tender. Rice is not damn fantastic, and there is hair in there which we requested to change. Side dishes are pretty much acceptable. The only dish we loved is their Fried Tofu, best dish in Boon Tong Kee. In terms of pricing, it is definitely steeper due to branding.

Meow always say they focus too much on their image branding and lose the magic touch on food. And the way they try to improve the shop appearance is nuts. Letting the staffs wear those handmade paper hats which looks like funeral items. And the outlet in River Valley tries to go for posh look with candles lighted up in the evening, and even serves you chocolate bars. So mismatch.

Therefore, pls concentrate more on the food you served to customers rather than trying to be creative in a wrong way.

As what we say, these two chicken stalls are having fierce competition, always near to one another. So you prefer skinny hard life kampong chickens or fat lazy pampered chickens?

Lots of food along Bukit Timah!! The background looks like Bangkok ah.

Bustling street with packed crowds. Hey, the thumbs up is only for the fried tofu.

Waiting and waiting. Freak, where's our food??
